Drop the four bolts from the front differential and move it over a little bit and pull it out the front. It's way easier.

Love the videos, thank you! However my 94 Timberwolf will only pull start and run no lights even when running?! If I put a battery in I get no lights, no electric start, and no neutral or reverse lights. Any ideas?

That was some real slight of hand using the 12mm wrench to "loosen" the choke cable from the carb. No 12mm open end wrench that I have ever found will fit between the carb body and the brass choke fitting. There is a $22 special tool that will do the job. Instead, I cut a slot in a box end wrench and ground down the box end thickness so that it fit between the carb body and the brass fitting. It was a home made tool but it works great.

Thanks for this video. It's difficult to get info on older carbs. I serviced my '82 Yamaha XJ750J carbs since the engine side boots were cracked. I still have the issue of only getting half choke travel and then it seems to not do anything beyond that so starting in cold weather is a problem. I can still cover the intake to the airbox and it keeps running. Choking off the air at the airbox should kill the engine but it doesn't. The carbs were extremely clean when I took them apart and I replaced the jets and seats. I guess I have an air leak somewhere but not sure what it could be. I do need to synch and adjust float levels and probably check valve clearances. Any thoughts on the potential leak are appreciated.

I'm rebuilding my 660 the top hose on the resivor tank. Does the hose just connect to the resivor tank and nothing else or does that line then connect to another engin part. I forgot to take pics when I was disassembling 4 years ago.

Anyone having trouble taking off the float pin use a center punch they’re about $4 at harbor freight its gonna save you so much time they’re usually stuck on there and dont come out as easy as this.

for gear oil can you use 75w90 synthetic gear oil instead of 80w90 and would 10w30 synthetic oil work or needs to be 10w40

I have a 2003 500 TRV with 502 miles. Nothing i do stops gas from leaked out the overflow. A ultrasonic clean made it leak faster. A carb kit got me 4 miles and then died due to flooding and it then dumped its gas in the dirt. Guess i just need a shiny new pos from Amazon?

I know this is an older post but I have a maxim 750 and I took the carbs apart 5 years ago. I have all the parts but the bowl was seized on and I had to tap with a mallet. Broke one of the posts for the float. I couldn’t get the bike to start as it hadn’t ran for 15 years. Do you have any suggestions for rebuild? Or should I just looks for a new set?

Great video for someone like me that knows nothing about these atv. My father in-law has a 2005 Prairie 700 that has no power when the key is turned on. He installed a new battery after the winter but noting happens when the key is turned on. the display shows nothing and the lights wont even turn on. Is there a master fuse from the battery to the key switch or is there something else we should be looking at?

I will say I have a 4x4 version and when I replaces it I ordered (what I now know is wrong ), but its had the 2x4 version on it and runs just fine idle and all runs just right

Excellent video. I have a 2006 Honda Rubicon trx 500. Is this the factory carb? I have been putting off the rebuild but your video makes it look straight forward. I am the original owner 1200 miles on it. Also the black priming push bulb with spring is sticking it is not working properly. I rarely had to use that. But it needs some kind of attention.

Hey, I have a 05 Kodiak 450. After many checks, spark fuel valve timing etc. I noticed the piston is not moving in the cyclinder. The engine timing is staying correct. But piston don’t move. I held both sides of the crank and can’t rotate one side without the other. If it broke a rod I would expect to see a hole in the block. Broken woodruff key possibly? Looking forward to your response. Thank you

I have an issue with mine overcharging to 17 volts. I ran all the lights so I hopefully didnt burn anything up. I hit a rock in the middle of a trail which started a few issues. My question is the one lonely wire on these should be hooked to something (yellow/red line) ? Mine is not. I believe when the machine hit and the wire got disconnected eventually wrapping on the axle and tearing out? Is this wire always used?

Do you know where I can get a new boot from carburetor to air filter? I’m having a problem with sputtering when I’m accelerating and gonna try your carb kit and put a new boot on. My boot is cracked and I think air is leaking in.
